ROBERT GALLON
British (1845-1925)
Robert Gallon was born in London, England in 1845. He was a landscape painter traveling through England, Wales and Scotland. He painted with both oils and watercolors. Gallon painted in a realistic style similar to Benjamin Leader and Vicat Cole.
He began to exhibit in 1868 at the age of 23 and continued to do so quite successfully through 1903.
Gallon exhibited at the Royal Academy, 32 times and at the Royal Society of British Artists, 27 times. In addition, Gallon also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water-Colours, both in London as well as at the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham.
He died in 1925. |
