JOHN HORACE HOOPER
British (1850-1899)
John Horace Hooper was born in 1850 in or around London, England. He was a painter of landscapes.
He painted in a broad, realistic style, similar to that of the well known British artist, Henry John Kinnaird, who apparently influenced him.
Hooper began to exhibit at the important venues in 1877 and continued to do so until 1899. He exhibited six times at The Royal Academy which included views of Mapledurham, Pangbourne and Sonning.
He also exhibited at The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, The Royal Hibernian Academy and The Arthur Tooth & Sons Gallery.
John Horace Hooper died sometime after 1899. |
