F.W. Meyer was born near Putney, England sometime in the 1800’s. He was a painter of shipping and coastal scenes and landscapes. His landscapes were mostly of Wales while his shipping and coastal scenes were of the English coast and Brittany, France.

Meyer began to exhibit in 1869 and continued until 1922. He exhibited at The Royal Academy, The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and The Manchester City Art Gallery.

Meyer died sometime after 1922.
