Read Arnold
In
the tradition of the Impressionist painters and their followers, Linda
Arnold creates beautiful landscapes with a confident, painterly touch.
Residing in New York City,
the artist is able to locate and capture the
idyllic moments of her travels to such diverse places as the shores of
Long Island and the mountains of Vermont and Colorado.
Linda Arnold received a BA from Northwestern University and a MA from the University of Michigan, then began her study of art at the Art Students League and worked with Robert Brackman early in her career. For many years she has studied at the National Academy School of Fine Art with a number of distinguished artists including Serge Hollerbach, Wolf Kahn and Sharon Sprung. She has been the recipient of numerous awards at the School including the Distinction in Painting Award, the Ralph Fabri Prize for Landscapes and, most recently, the Dr. Ralph Weiler Memorial Award. Subsequently, she gave a lecture at the National Academy sharing her experience. An accomplished en plein air painter, Ms Arnold’s oil sketches were displayed at the National Academy School in a one person show in 2006. She has taught workshops on painting on location in Florida and was the subject of feature articles in Vero Beach Magazine, Gallery and Studio, and The Southampton Press.
