ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Louis Devedeux was born in Clermont-Ferrand on July 8, 1820 and died in Paris on August 9, 1874, was a French painter.

Louis Devedeux was the son of Jean Jacques Henri Devedeux and Catherine Émilie Raymond. He studied from 1836 at the School of Fine Arts in Paris where he was a pupil of Paul Delaroche and Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon of 1838.

 

He marries Léonie Méchin. He died at his home in the Impasse du Pont-aux-Biches on August 9,1874 in Paris, at the age of 54.
