ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Édouard Auguste Marius Antoine Ducros, born in Aix-en-Provence on August 28,1856, where he died on October 271936, is a French marine painter.

​

A pupil of Julien Gustave Gagliardini and Louis Gautier, he exhibited in various salons including the Paris Salon and in Lyon, and obtained an honorary diploma in Aix and a medal in Versailles and Lyon.

​

He is the founder of the Society of Friends of the Arts of Aix-en-Provence. His works are kept in the Museums of Aix, Montpellier de Digne and Béziers . His painting Le Grand canal de Martigues was acquired by the city of Paris.
