ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Jean Beauduin was a painter, draughtsman and illustrator of genre scenes, portraits and landscapes. He received his artistic training at the Academy of Antwerp. He moved to Paris shortly afterwards to work as an illustrator for numerous newspapers and magazines, such as "Le Figaro", "La France illustrée", "Panurge", "La Silhouette", "La Chronique Parisienne" and "Paris illustrée". He exhibited his oeuvre at the "Salon des Artistes Français" in Paris.

He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francaises as well as many expositions in the US and Europe. He traveled to New York and Boston to sell his paintings at the most prestigious galleries of the late 19th century. He is listed as one of the "petit maitres" of his time.
